Louis,

Your point that it's time to show the world solutions is well made.

It is time for us all to stop doing studies and research when we already know how to use batteries and electric motors and solar cells. It is time to use our knowledge.

Now.

Why not show the trailer with its 6 suare meters of photovoltaic panels?

Why is there no trailer category (for solar cars and bikes) at the trans-australian solar race?

Is it because it might inspire aircraft builders to design an aircraft trailing a flexcell ribbon... to outfly Piccard's Solar Impulse?

Please note that I had proposed a single-wheel bike trailer with 1 square meter of photovoltaic panels (2 m long) on its cover for the Swiss national exibition Expo 02 as early as 2001.

Louis Palmer is totally unknown by the Swiss public, his solartaxi might as well have been sabotaged by the energy lobbies.

I wish Piccard a good and safe flight!

And Louis Palmer a Nobel prize!
